Patient Profiles
In a recent survey, Hologic identified four distinct groups of patients, based on their needs and attitude. Two of these groups of women are the most likely to take action once they are educated about the treatment options. They are:Back to My Life ("PLEASE give me my life back")
and
Freedom Seekers ("I want more freedom and spontaneity in my life")
Combined, these patient segments make up nearly three-quarters of the U.S. patient base. They suffer most from the symptoms of heavy menstrual bleeding:
- Heavy menstrual bleeding severely impacts their emotional well-being, greatly interferes with their lifestyle/activities, and can negatively impact their relationships.
- These patients are concerned about (and avoid) doing any activities during their period.
- They experience multiple severe symptoms including painful cramps, headaches, depression/moodiness, heavy bleeding, excessive fatigue and bloating.
- Patients in these groups miss more than eight days of work per year due to their condition.
- They want to stop their heavy periods permanently and are very likely to try NovaSure if recommended by their doctor.
